Skiing in Pas de la Casa
With 100km of local pistes, Pas de la Casa has the largest skiing area out of the 193km Grandvalira ski area. This makes the area comparable to big names such as Kitzbuhel and Les Deux Alpes. The treeless local slopes link over the pass to the varied terrain of Grau Roig and the more sheltered ski resort Soldeu. The area has seen €112 million of fresh investment into a state-of the art speedy lift system of chairs, gondolas and cable cars.
Beginners will get to grips on the excellent ‘Piso,’ ‘Pessons,’ and ‘Abelletes’ green slopes. Intermediates on their skiing holiday will find ample rip-roaring blues and reds to sweep down, Eclipse Ski’s hot tip is to try the scenic ‘Pic Negre D’Envalira’ for breathtaking views, at the highest point of Andorra at 2,822m. Advanced skiers can test their skills (and nerves!) on off-piste runs ‘Llebre’ and ‘Avet’ on the Grandvalira ski area.
Snowboarding in Pas de la Casa
Snowboarding terrain around Pas de la Casa may not be extremely challenging, but drags are usually avoidable hooning around the freeride areas. The main snowboard park, complete with half-pipe to spin tricks on, is found in the traditional El Tarter area which sits just below top ski resort Soldeu.
