Overview
With its lively and friendly atmosphere, Soldeu was the first resort to put skiing holidays to Andorra on the map. Neighbouring resorts Soldeu and El Tarter are centrally placed in the impressive Grandevalira skiing area. The top ski resort is popular for its picturesque dense tree-lined slopes and excellent ski school. The breathtaking scenery in the Pyrenees means you can get snap-happy when you fancy a breather at the side of the mountain.
Skiing in Soldeu
The 193km of down-hill slopes are serviced by 64 newly installed efficient lifts, queues are minimal. One of the best resorts for beginners, the ski school is well set up to provide for Brits and the slopes perfect for gaining confidence on. The two large beginner-dedicated ski areas are Els Espiolet in Soldeu and Riba Escorade in El Tarter. Intermediates can charge around the big Grandvalira ski area and visit fun party resort Pas de la Casa and quieter Arinsal and Pal.
Children on family skiing holidays are well looked after with nurseries, snow gardens and at the mid mountain stations.
Snowboarding in Soldeu
The homeland of snowboarding in the Pyrenees, Soldeu offers chair lifts, not drags, and exciting off piste routes. The Pic D’enc Ampadana run begins as a fast open section which progresses onto a tree-laden drop off, a locally famous enthralling freeriding spot. Dotted around, backcountry kickers are already carved out, ready for action! Soldeu is the home to ‘Total Flight Masters’ and part of exciting ‘The Ticket to Ride,’ an international snowboarding freestyle competition held annually in April.

Lively, but not rowdy, the bars have a great atmosphere with live music. You can party until the small hours and enjoy the buzzing resorts cheap drinks and cigarettes. Bars Aspen, Fat Alberts and Piccadilly are a great night out for those on a group ski holiday.

Mainly consisting of a collection of stone-clad hotels, Soldeu skiing holidays are supplied as packages. Skiing holidays to both Soldeu and El Tarter are low-cost skiing options. Look out for luxury hotels at bargain prices during the 'low' season.
