Verbier

Overview

Switzerland's 'brand name' ski holiday resort possesses high-society chic combined with slopes perfectly situated on a south-west facing sunny plateau. The atmosphere in this ancient Swiss village is enhanced by spectacular views over the Mont Blanc and a lively après scene. Verbier is an impressive all-rounder ski resort that is perfect for any skiing trip, keeping groups and families happy on holiday.

Skiing in Verbier

Part of the big 4 Valleys skiing area, Verbier has an excellent modern lift system in place. The lift-linked paradise consists of 412km of downhill pistes connecting resorts Bruson, Evolene, La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Siviez, Thyon les Collons and Veysonnaz. Beginners shouldn’t be scared of the vast skiing area around them; there are plenty of green nursery slopes to cruise around on the sunny nursery slopes just above the village centre. Intermediates will find endless slopes of their favourites – a variety of blues and reds of course. Eclipse Ski loves the huge Lac des Vaux bowl area with lifts going in every possible direction. Expert skiers are normally the hardest to please, and why wouldn’t they be? On a Verbier skiing holiday, expert skiers can happily rejoice in excellent ski destination highlights such as the Tortin snow bowl with its huge bumps, couliers and steep skiing.

Snowboarding in Verbier

Snowboarding in Verbier you’ll find absolutely awesome terrain. The O’Neil Xtreme competition is held here annually, and for good reason. The polished pistes and fresh powder fields here will keep you busy snowboarding with friends from sunrise through to sunset. There are some fantastic tree-lined runs in the Bruson area and a board park can be found at La Chaux. Surprisingly there is no half-pipe here but the freestyling and freeriding boarding is at a superb level. You’ll still find hundreds of kickers and amazing off-piste here, but it’s the extreme terrain which will be worth writing a postcard about.

Apres in Verbier

The fantastic resort has something for everyone, family and group skiers will love the choice of ski chalets on offer in Verbier. The après scene can either be laid-back in cocktail bars or action-packed late nights in clubs, whichever you prefer.
