Alberg Ski Circus

Overview

A top destination for group ski holidays, St Anton, Lech, Zurs, Zug, Stuben, St. Christoph make up the Austrian ski paradise 'Alberg.' Exciting St Anton leads the pack with its lively night life and reputation for excellent skiing. The area boasts 260km of immaculate pistes for the immediate mile-hungry, served by 80 fast, modern lifts with a skiing altitude of 1450m-2460m all under one single lift pass. It has a highly-rated ski school for beginners combined with excellent children's facilities catering for family skiing holidays. The skiing holiday destination is a mecca for advanced skiers with its 30 black runs and incredible hidden off-piste terrain.

The Alberg’s off-piste pars its advanced skiing holidays with La Grave, Chamonix and Verbier. Donning helmets, transceivers, shovels and probes, the fearless will find superb powder covering the secluded valley systems. It’s essential to take a guide to maximise fun on the Alberg piste routes and find the untouched powder fields. Ski Alberg even has dedicated Ski Routes/Itinerary Runs which are patrolled, controlled for avalanches, but not pisted. Indicated by a red diamond sign, it’s a safe way to try off piste skiing. However, Eclipse Ski recommends taking a guide and heading to the Rendl back bowls, larch trees at Langen forest, steep Schindler shoots and the hair-raising plunge down from the Valluga summit for some of the exciting descents and adventure. Setting off early in the morning you can take advantage of the ‘White Ring’ ski circuit which takes you through all the main skiing areas.

Sitting at 2,811m, St Anton’s high altitude grants the area early or late season skiing. The area is easily accessible from airports Zurich in Switzerland and Innsbruck in Austria. With a traditional pedestrianized high street, the apres comprises many bars and restaurants, where it is customary to start straight from the slopes. The lively haunts will have you dancing in your ski boots and remain open until 6am. You’ll find the largest big-bottle cellar here, with bottles for sale up to €48,000!
