Espace Killy

Overview

The Espace Killy is a haven of extensive and challenging terrain. The high-altitude French domain is the collective name that links popular ski resorts Tignes and Val d'Isere and their subsidiaries. The snow conditions on enthralling 3650m high La Grand Motte glacier are known being snow-secure throughout the season. A popular Brit destination, it's one of the largest and most varied areas of the Alps.

Named after a local Olympic gold medallist Jean-Claude Killy, the 300km of pisted trails are served by 97 ski lifts. All levels of skier and snowboarder are well catered for in this exciting ski region. Val d’Isere marks the start of the European World Cup Downhill with its Premiere Neige in December. Tignes is a mecca for off-piste skiers as it offers some of the best lift-served off-piste skiing in the world. Eclipse Ski recommends taking a guide at all times to show you the best spots whilst skiing safely.

It’s easy to ski from one side to the other thanks to the ultra-efficient ski lift system. Val d’Isere dates back to the 13th century with its traditional architecture, whilst purpose-built Tignes has a more modern skiing holiday feel. At 1800, you will find old hamlet La Daille perched just below Val d’Isere.

The Espace Killy region has many exciting non-skiing activities to take advantage of. With top-notch après, the variety of bars and restaurants will ensure a good-time skiing holiday on and off the slopes. Val d’Isere is one of the few places in the Alps to offer ice driving and ice scuba diving. Why not get the heart racing with Husky rides, parapenting and heli-skiing on your skiing holiday to the Espace Killy.
