Cervinia

Overview

Based on one of the world's most beautiful mountains, Cervinia is a charming purpose-built ski holiday resort with oodles of charm. Based on the Italian side of the 4478 metre high Matterhorn mountain, Cervinia is lift-linked with neighbouring Swiss resort Zermatt. High altitude grants the village snow-sure slopes from December through to April making it a reliable choice for planning your ski holiday to Italy.

Skiing in Cervinia

The slopes are well groomed and perfect for coasting down whilst gathering millage on the nicely laid out long runs. Those on beginner ski holidays will find gentle wide pistes for snowploughing on and it’s an intermediate’s paradise of blues and reds. Advanced skiers and snowboarders should head over to Zermatt for some extreme off piste tracks.

Snowboarding in Cervinia

Snowboarding in Cervinia is decent and great for intermediates. Beginner snowboarders will like it too but should be weary of a couple of flats, try Plan Maison off the cable car for ideal gradient. Advanced boarders should ask locals or alternatively head to Zermatt. Indian Park has a well looked after half pipe and great kickers. Be careful whilst getting over to Zermatt, the first run is slightly flat and packed with skiers. Also, if the wind is up you’ll need to take two long t-bars back home, so make sure you check the weather forecast if you find them stressful.

Apres in Cervinia

The après scene is one of the liveliest in Italy. Brimming with restaurants, bars and nightclubs, there is a night spot suitable to celebrate being on holiday every single night of the week, perfect for group ski holidays to Cervinia!

Accommodation in Cervinia

Accommodation in Cervinia is great for those looking for a bargain skiing holiday. Mostly self-catered apartments or hotel based, with many of the hotels being B&Bs. The pedestrianised centre buildings are wooden clad for a picture-postcard alpine feel.
