Overview
Pretty chalet-style village Selva lays in the heart of the dramatic UNESCO World Heritage Site the Dolomites Mountains. Part of the Val Gardena Ladin valley, Selva can be found on the most recognised ski route of the Dolomites Superski pass, the Sella Ronda ski circuit.
Skiing in Selva
Named after the Sella Massif, Sella Ronda is a huge majestic peak of dramatic granite protruding out of the Dolomiti landscape. With a layout which permits you to circle round the linked resorts, it’s possible to ski the circuit in one day. Encompassing resorts such as Arabba, Campitello and Santa Cristina, Eclipse Ski recommends planning properly and starting before 10am and to reach the last pass no later than 3.30pm. Check the weather forecast before setting off to make sure lifts will remain open for the day. The Sella Ronda lift pass covers the lifts needed to get round the 26kms of downhill trails.
The Dolomiti superski lift pass gives access to 1200km in Trentino, Veneto and Alto Adige. With over 464 ski lifts, leading to almost 40 different facilities, you can ski in every direction possible. Eclipse Ski’s hot tip is the lift pass now allows you to check your personal skiing stats for the day, such as how many times you have used the lifts, vertical height and the number of kilometres you have skied.
Famed for hosting the Men’s World Cup race annually in December, skiing holidays to Selva offer varied terrain to any level of skier or boarder. Popular Sella Ronda and Selva are an excellent choice for beginner and intermediate skiers. There is a glacier and some challenging runs from Marmolada ski area for the more intermediate or advanced level skier. Arabba features some exhilarating runs for advanced skiers.
