Overview

Unspoilt and ancient, French-speaking Les Diablerets is surrounded by magnificent mountain peaks of the Diablerets Glacier. The 'winter-wonderland' village is full of comfortable hotels, traditional Swiss ski chalets and farmhouses for skiing holiday accommodation. Known for its year-round skiing and link to neighbouring Gstaad and Villars, Les Diablerets covers the vast meadows at the foot of the glacier.

Skiing in Les Diablerets

Les Diablerets is underrated for its surprisingly large skiing area and varied terrain. It has its attractions for both skiers and boarders. Part of the Glacier-Alpes Vaudoises Ski area, it has direct access to 60km of local downhill slopes. By purchasing the appropriate lift pass your skiing can be extended to Anzere, Chateau d’Oex, Gstaad, Leysin and Villars. Les Diablerets skiing is split into two sections. There are some fantastically long tree-lined runs, for example the 10km Combe d’Audon, with a vertical drop of 1650m as you go down, which is mainly suitable for intermediate level skiers and above. Expert skiers, it’s worth hiring a guide to take you around the multitude of off-piste descents. Skiing holidays to Les Diablerets offer options for all levels of skier, it’s a great base to ski around Villars and Gstaad.

Snowboarding in Les Diablerets

Freeriders should be happy riding around the giant glacier on the big wide open motorway cruisers and off-piste powder. Freestylers will be right at home in one of Europe’s best boardparks, boasting 3 half-pipes. Glacier 3000’s Monsterpark is open from mid-October to May. The skiers love the big jumps in the park too.

Les Diablerets is a winter wonderland of very reasonably priced hotels and chalets. Children feel enchanted on their family skiing holidays to Les Diablerets. The après is surprisingly lively given the size of the resort, with a good selection of restaurants, bars and nightclubs.
