Park City

Overview

Park City in Utah is an attractive and affluent skiing resort. Buzzing with activity, it's your classic all-American skiing town. The traditional centre features a tram line running through the Victorian style buildings. The old mines of this gold rush town can still be seen on the mountain, adding a sprinkling of history as you ski around the epic 140km of pisted downhill slopes. The champagne-snow skiing here is a dream come true, Salt Lake dries out the snow across the Park City slopes and its surrounding skiing areas.

Skiing in Park City

Beginners will progress quickly at the excellent ski school and should head to runs like Claimjumper and Bonanza where you ski from the very top all the way down to the bottom. Intermediate and advanced skiers will love the powder and find Park City a great base for somewhere to stay, as it gives easy access to other popular skiing areas The Canyons and Deer Valley. You can also pay for transfers to Solitude and Brighton, or even over to slightly superior ski resorts Snowbird and Alta.

Park City skiing is such an excellent ski resort that even the USA national ski team base themselves there. The resort staged the 2002 Winter Olympics, and the Olympic runs are still marked out to this day, so you can finally prove to your family and friends that you’re the best skier or boarder!

Snowboarding in Park City

Despite the fact that snowboarders aren't allowed in Deer Valley or Alta, the quality of freeriding is pretty top-notch. Snowboarders will be happy to know there is a super-pipe sat alongside lots of decent kickers, steeps and drops. The 4 terrain parks will give you plenty to do, try chilling out at Jupiter for breathtaking scenery.

Apres in Park City

Apres ski in Park City is lively with plenty to do including good quality restaurants serving prime steaks and ribs, an American tradition you can’t afford to miss. In resort, you'll find bars and a couple of micro-breweries. Park City used to be known as a 'dry' state, but this all changed when it became a popular choice for skiing holidays after they hosted the Olympics.

Accommodation in Park City

The Park City champagne powder is light and fluffy due to the minimal humidity in Utah. The town becomes a hive of activity as it stages Robert Redford’s Sundance Film Festival which is held annually in February. There are a few slope-side lodges and hotels available for your skiing holidays to Park City.

Overall the best thing about Park City is its position as a base to discover Utah’s best skiing areas, so check out our Park City packages to find your perfect all-American skiing holiday.
