Montana is home to a few other popular destinations such as Big Sky and Jackson Hole in Wyoming. New England encompasses resorts Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Colorado has the most resorts with Vail, Steamboat, Breckenridge, Crested Butte, Copper Mountain, Winter Park and off-piste haven Aspen. Utah staged the 2002 Winter Olympics at famous resorts Park City and Deer Valley. From Eclipse Ski’s experience, Vail and Aspen are the slightly more exclusive and expensive resorts whilst Copper Mountain in Colorado and Lake Tahoe in California tend to be slightly cheaper options.

The skiing accommodation in American ski resorts generally speaking has double beds, which can tend to be lacking in European counter parts. GETTiNG THERE

Flights to the US are approximately 10 hours, depending on your destination. Denver International Airport serves Aspen, Breckenridge, Steamboat and Vail. Salt Lake City Airport serves Winter Park in Utah. All transfers are between 1 hour 30 mins and 3 hours 30 minutes.

TRAVELLiNG iNDEPENDENTLY

You can hire cars at both Denver and Salt Lake City airports if you are into fly-driving.

Denver airports transfers are known as Mountain Carriers. Reservations are recommended for the charters, shuttles or coach services. Blue Sky Shuttle, Colorado Mountain Express, Estes Valley Transport, Go Alpine, Heart of the Rockies Tour LLC, High County Colorado Skiing Shuttle, Home James and MTN Shuttle are the main operators.

Aspen has the luxury of its own airport with up to 150 direct flights into The Aspen-Pitkin airport just 3 miles from resort, with frequent connecting services to Denver International starting from just $200.

The 2 hour journey to Breckenridge is served by Colorado Mountain Express and MTN Shuttle. The journey to Steamboat is just over 3 hours and Go Alpine serve this resort. You can fly to Vail from Denver if you’re feeling luxurious starting from $400 a seat. It’s a 2 hour drive and Colorado Mountain Express and Heart of the Rockies Tours LLC offer services to resort.

Salt Lake City Airport is just 40 minutes away from Park City in Utah. There are private luxury SUV vans or shared van transfers direct from the airport with Park City Transportation. Why not hop on a flight and fly back via a few days in exciting Las Vegas as it’s only an hour away?
