Uluda is Mysia’s mythological Mount Olympus. It is said to be the location where the gods viewed the Trojan War in mythology. It is an outgrowth of the Pontic Mountain ranges to the west. It is the highest mountain in Western Anatolia, culminating in Kara Tepe, and its name means “Big Mountain” (2543m). The ski centre, located in the Uluda National Park, is 36 km south of Bursa and may be reached by either a sealed road or a combination cable-car/bus route, which may be preferable when the road is ice.

Uluda offers predominantly intermediate skiing on gently forested slopes that are open from December to late March. There is also heli-skiing accessible and extensive off-piste bowls to explore, albeit these pose a conservation concern within the national park. There are currently 27 hotels, 15 of which are privately owned, with over 3000 beds.
