When you go skiing in Sicily you don’t have the usual alpine vistas, but you do have views of the Ionian Sea and views of Mt. Etna which does blow out smoke into the beautiful, cloudless blue sunny skies. Due to Mt. Etna standing proudly at 3,323 m high, it is possible to ski and snowboard from November until early April. Of course, the ski resorts will open earlier and delay closing if the winter weather conditions are favourable, for those who love nothing more than the adrenalin rush of crisp, white slopes.

The advantage of skiing in Sicily is, it’s the same as a two centre resort. You can ski and snowboard every day if you wish or, there are plenty of other activities to do. You can bronze yourself at the beach where you can relax in beautiful surroundings enjoying sun, sea and sand. You can visit the delightful towns of Catania, Syracuse and Taormina, where you can transport yourself back to medieval times.
