Surprising as it may seem, there are 32 ski resorts in Iran. Skiing in Iran offers 60 km of slopes all served by 60 ski lifts. When you think of Iran you tend to think about the soaring heat and high temperatures, however, not so in the Alborz Mountain range where the most prolific ski resorts are located. The most well known ski resorts in Iran are Dizin, Shemshak and Darbandsar which are all found in the Alborz Mountain range.

Dizin offers the most snowfall of all of the resorts, which falls in abundance from December through to April. The nearest airport to fly into for ski resorts in the Alborz Mountain range is Tehran (THR) which is just 71 km (44 miles) from the ski resorts.
